Mercy Track & Field turned in a strong performance at the MHSAA Regional meet, finishing third overall and just two points shy of a runner up finish.

The Marlins qualified several athletes for the MHSAA State Finals, highlighted by a first place finish from the 4x800 relay team of Ainslie Carter '28, Libby Gerzema '28, Nora Gerzema '26, and Clare Hafner '26.

Freshman Maggie Kandt '29 captured a regional title in shot put and also qualified for the state finals in discus.

In the high jump, JJ Lukas '29 and Emily Cuthbertson '26 both earned state qualifying performances, finishing second and third respectively.

Lukas also secured a regional championship in the 300 meter hurdles with a first place finish.

In the 800 meter run, Nora Gerzema '26 and Libby Gerzema '28 both qualified for the state finals after finishing first and second.

The Marlins now turn their focus to the MHSAA State Championships as they continue a strong postseason run.
