POSITION DESCRIPTION
Varsity Head Sideline Cheer Coach
We encourage a broadly diverse pool of applicants for all positions as we work intentionally to create a faculty and administration that reflects our student body. We seek an individual to join our Sideline Cheer program tohelp promote the sport of Cheer and to enrich the Mercy charisma and Catholic teachings within our community.

The selected applicant will:

1. Be a visible presence around the Mercy Athletic Community
2. Demonstrate contemporary knowledge of the sport and an ability to cultivate new skills with
students through drills, sequenced plays and encouragement on and off the field
3. Establish clear expectations and consequences; deliver criticism in a manner that upholds the
dignity of each athlete while maintaining high expectations
4. Plan and conduct practice sessions focusing on skill development, strategy and teamwork
5. Collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure a consistent approach across the program.
6. Establish a positive relationship with coaches, athletes, parents, officials, and community
members
7. Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of students, equipment and facilities
8. Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation
9. Perform additional duties which may be assigned by the Athletic Director
10. Coordinate and run summer camps

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
? A candidate should have previous coaching experience
? A commitment to provide students/athletes with a positive sports experience ? Availability to
attend team practices, games and team events. (May include evening and some weekends)
