Mercy Tennis captured a share of the CHSL Championship after a hard fought tournament performance that ended in a tie with Ann Arbor Greenhills.

The Marlins opened the tournament with a strong first round, advancing every flight to the finals except 4 singles and 4 doubles. At 1 doubles, Sydney Wilker and Mallory Cooney secured a key win over Marian to earn a spot in the championship round.

In the finals, Mercy faced a series of challenging matchups. Scarlett Menchinger was the first Marlin to secure a victory, winning at 3 singles and providing a major momentum boost for the team.

At 1 singles, Keira Kirkland battled through a competitive three set match against Ann Arbor Greenhills before falling in a tiebreak after splitting the opening two sets. Alexa Dueweke also faced Ann Arbor Greenhills at 2 singles, pushing her opponent throughout the match and fighting for every point.

The final match of the tournament came at 3 doubles, where Emily Thompson and Kaitlyn Duneske delivered a clutch win in a tight tiebreak to secure the final points needed for Mercy to share the championship title.

The co championship marks Mercy's first CHSL title since 2013 and reflects the growth and determination the Marlins have shown throughout the season.

"I'm so proud of how far everyone was able to get into the tournament and how much we have improved from our first matches of the season. I'm excited to see how the rest of the season continues with the strong foundation we have set at Catholic Leagues," said Assistant Coach Phoenix Williams.
