Mercy captured its third straight MHSAA Division 2 Girls Swimming & Diving State Championship at Eastern Michigan University, finishing with 337 points and edging out Grosse Pointe South by just two points for the title. The championship was secured in the final event of the meet, where the relay team of Avery Tack, Campbell Shore, Lyla Collins and Ella Hafner won the 400-meter relay in 3:26.05 to seal the victory. This win marks Mercy's 14th state title overall and the sixth under head coach Michael Venos, as well as the program's second three-peat following a run of consecutive titles from 2007 to 2011.

The Marlins delivered key performances across the meet. Ella Hafner finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.53 and set a new Division 2 record in the 500 freestyle prelims at 4:49.74 before taking second place in the finals. Avery Tack added to Mercy's momentum with a win in the 200 IM, clocking 2:04.64. Mercy also earned valuable points in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing just 0.31 seconds behind Grosse Pointe South. In diving, Sophia D'Orazio contributed crucial points with an eighth-place finish in the 1-meter event.

The combined results across swimming and diving proved to be the difference, allowing Mercy to hold off a strong challenge from Grosse Pointe South. The championship adds another chapter to the program's storied history and reinforces Mercy's position among the state's elite.
