Mercy Softball defeated Allen Park 3-0 to advance to the MHSAA Softball Semifinals on Thursday. It was a pitching dual with both teams battling through six scoreless innings before the Marlins broke through in the top of the seventh. Evelyn Miller '25 singled to start the inning, and standout pitcher Kaitlyn Pallozzi '25 drove her in with a two-run home run to put the Marlins on the board. Carmella Crane '25 added an RBI with a line drive securing the 3-0 victory for the Marlins. Defensively for the Marlins, Kaitlyn Pallozzi struck out 19 batters, gave up three hits and walked one. 

Mercy last faced Allen Park in the 2022 quarterfinals, where they fell to the Jags 11-3. The Marlins' last trip to the semifinals was in 2021. Mercy is aiming for their second state championship in school history, with their first win in 2016.
