The Mercy High School girl's tennis team showcased impeccable skills in a dominating performance against Sacred Heart, securing an 8-0 victory on Tuesday.
Held at the Mercy High School courts, the Marlins' high school girls' team displayed exceptional talent in the regular season gameup.
The first singles position featured Megan's strong start with a win in both sets, 6-2 and 6-0, followed by Keira who also didn't drop a game with 6-0, 6-0 wins. Alexa and Gabby showcased the same level of dominance on their end, both winning their gamees with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.
The doubles positions saw a similar success story for Mercy High. First doubles players Diana and
Sophia Bishop faced a more intense battle, securing a tiebreak win in the first set with a 7-6 (7-5) margin, then cruising to a 6-0 finish. The pattern expanded across the other pairings, with Mallory and Julia taking a tight tiebreak at 7-6 before charging to a 6-1 victory while Penelope and
Sophia Wilker, and Tori and Rafi followed suit eventually winning with identical scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively.
The Marlins expressed satisfaction in this win.
Looking ahead, the Marlins will host Cranbrook the very next day for another test of their mettle.
