The Mercy High School Athletic Department is thrilled to announce Clarence Boyd as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Women's Tennis Team. Boyd brings 14 years of coaching experience spanning high school and collegiate programs, along with expertise in athlete development, program management, and competitive strategy.

A 2007 graduate of Georgia State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Boyd played four seasons on the men's tennis team.

Boyd spent four years as an assistant coach with the Georgia Tech men's tennis team, helping develop multiple ACC athletes. He also served as assistant coach for Georgia State University's women's tennis team.

At the high school level, Boyd coached both boys and girls varsity teams at Cranbrook Schools, having helped lead the program to six state titles in the past eight years. He has also directed tennis programs at the Tennis House and H.E.A.T Tennis Academy, training athletes of all levels and developing nationally ranked junior players.

"We are excited to welcome Clarence as our new head coach," shared Brandon Malinowski, Athletic Director. "His extensive coaching experience, strong knowledge of the game, and proven ability to develop athletes make him an ideal leader for our tennis program. Clarence has been a valuable member in helping set the program culture at Cranbrook, and his knowledge of the Catholic League and MHSAA will be valuable in continuing to build on the program's success."
